Unknown to many, South Africa is awash with beauty pageants for girls so young some look barely out of nappies. Which doesn’t mean they get to act their age. This disturbing film takes viewers behind the scenes at one such contest at Sun City. These reluctant princesses are taught to pout, curtsy and wriggle their hips, told where to look and what to say, then trussed up in miniature ballroom gowns and sent swanning onto the catwalk.
